The Komen Tissue Bank is participating in #GivingTuesday again this year! #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration that will take place on November 29^th. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. In short, it is a day to do something good for your community.

We hope that this #GivingTuesday you will help support the Komen Tissue Bank and our goal to transform breast cancer research. Our #GivingTuesday goal is to raise $2,000 in 24 hours! All gifts will support the general Komen Tissue Bank fund and allow us to continue our efforts and purchase vital supplies such as needles for the next tissue collection event coming up on January 21^st in Indianapolis. We need around 125 needles for this Indy event. Six needles cost approximately $1,000!

As the only repository in the world for healthy breast tissue, we represent a truly unique resource that is producing research on the origins of breast cancer so we can stop it before it develops. As physicians and researchers, our primary mission is to save lives, and philanthropy provides the critical support we need to achieve this.

We are excited to announce that this year every dollar raised up to our goal on #GivingTuesday will be generously matched by The Catherine Peachey Fund, a Member of the Heroes Foundation Family.

That means that if you contribute $50 it will become $100 raised in support of the KTB and breast cancer research! We will also have some great KTB-themed thank you gifts for our #GivingTuesday contributors
